Follow the material.
Our Sherwan talc source in Abbottabad District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, combines a documented geological setting with underground mining and lot-based traceability.
A dolomite-hosted
talc system.
Sherwan talc occurs in a dolomite-hosted hydrothermal setting, described in historical geological work as part of the Abbottabad Formation. Talc occurs in replacement zones associated with fractures and shear structures in the dolomite host.
The source forms part of the Sherwan Syncline and a regional talc-bearing belt described as approximately 16 km along strike. This is regional geological context, rather than a statement of our concession size or reserves.
Location
Sherwan region, Abbottabad District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
Geological setting
Dolomite-hosted hydrothermal talc within the Abbottabad Formation.
Extraction
Underground drift mining through multiple access tunnels.
Preparation
Grade selection, sorting, sampling and export preparation.
Talc and its
associated minerals.
Source characterisation identifies talc as the dominant mineral, with minor chlorite and other associated phases. Mineralogical analysis helps explain the composition of the material being evaluated.
Source geology provides useful context for optical properties and composition. The selected grade and representative laboratory results remain the basis for acceptance.
Khandakhu access.
Seven underground drifts.
Seven underground access tunnels in Khandakhu intersect the talc-bearing formation within the same concession. A shared formation does not eliminate material variation between prepared lots. These drifts provide access to the deposit and a source reference for production records.
Mining and sorting records support material identification as it moves from extraction through stockpiles and shipment preparation. Explore the record chain
Keep the source
with the shipment.
The documented chain links the mining source to production lots, laboratory assessment and container shipments.

Asbestos assessment
of Sherwan samples.
Our technical documentation summarises a no-detect result for samples independently assessed using XRD, PLM and TEM. Results should be reviewed within the laboratory report’s sample scope.

Historical USGS mapping and more recent academic work provide context for the Sherwan area. They describe a geological setting; they are not certificates for Blanc Fixe grades, mine-reserve statements or evidence for an individual shipment.
