Feedstock selection
Start with your mill and finished-product requirement.
Read moreUnderstand talc lumps and fines before selecting raw feedstock from Pakistan or Afghanistan.

Lumps are larger pieces of raw material. Crushed talc and fines are smaller fractions produced or separated during extraction, handling and preparation. Product descriptions should state the actual size requirement agreed for the order.
Raw fines are not automatically micronized powder. A powder specification normally needs a defined particle-size distribution and an agreed measurement method.
| Material form | Selection priorities | What to ask us |
|---|---|---|
| Raw talc lumps | Maximum feed size, visible selection and handling. | Will this material fit our mill’s intake and preparation process? |
| Crushed talc & fines | Distribution of smaller particles, moisture and consistent feeding. | What size fractions and fine-particle proportion will the lot contain? |
| Processed powder | Particle-size distribution and application-specific assessment. | What processing has been performed and which powder tests are available? |
Availability and processing status must be confirmed for the selected offering. Raw-material supply should not be confused with future micronizing capacity.
Size describes the material form. Grade describes the agreed quality selection. Neither lumps nor fines should be accepted or rejected on size alone.
Compare representative samples for mineral composition, optical properties, moisture and other agreed parameters. A selected lump and a composite of fines are different sample types; record that difference when comparing results.
Tell us the feed size your mill accepts and how the material is received, stored and fed. Discuss moisture and the proportion of smaller particles where these affect flow or handling.
Trial the proposed material under your own processing conditions before making a wider performance assumption.
A useful enquiry names the origin, grade, material form, size requirement, test methods, quantity and destination. Keep packaging and sample requirements in the same discussion.
