Describe your application, grinding route and finished-product priorities. A feedstock that suits one mill or formulation may need a different preparation approach for another.
Work backwards from your required optical properties, mineral composition and powder characteristics to the raw-material selection. Validate the proposed feedstock through sample testing and processing trials.
| Requirement | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Origin & grade | Pakistan or Afghanistan; selected source and grade reference. |
| Feed form & size | Lumps or smaller fractions; acceptable size distribution for your mill. |
| Optical properties | Name R457, Ry or L*, a*, b* separately and agree sample preparation. |
| Composition | Required chemical and mineralogical parameters with methods. |
| Moisture & handling | Test basis, handling priorities and packaging requirements. |
| Testing scope | Representative sampling and any source-specific asbestos assessment. |
| Commercial supply | Quantity, destination, timing and documents required. |
Use consistent sampling, preparation and testing conditions. A selected white stone, crushed composite and ground laboratory specimen do not represent the same preparation.
Confirm whether the sample represents a proposed supply lot or an initial source evaluation. Retain an identified reference sample where agreed, and discuss how the shipment assessment will relate to the sample approval.
Our Pakistan and Afghan offerings have distinct origin and grade references. A regional geological description or a test on Sherwan samples does not establish the characteristics of an Afghan lot.
Grade names are catalogue identifiers. Ask for current information applicable to the proposed material rather than reading an unconfirmed test value into a name.
Record the sample reference, agreed methods, evaluation results and the specification used to approve the material. Confirm how those requirements will be checked for the commercial lot.
If the proposed origin, material stream or preparation changes, revisit the relevant parts of the assessment before supply is agreed.
Share your application, specification and destination. We’ll discuss the material and sampling requirements.
